Make mconfig more verbose on fail

If a unit erroneously has

?MAKE:  -pick $@ $@

instead of

?MAKE:  -pick $@ %<

it passes with just one make target, but with two make targets, mconfig
fails with

Can't open .

which isn't very helpful
bin/mconfig
